Fruit breakfast

Image
Thanks to our donor, we still were able to have muskmelon in July. Generally, we make juice out of muskmelon. Everything is churned except the skin. So yes, we are grinding the seeds, too. But in this picture, I am eating two slices of it including the seeds. They'll just pass out but not before feeding some to my good bacteria. The plums are local. We paid Rs.30 per kilo. It's small variety but sweet. The peaches are also local. Vendors were selling them for Rs.80 per kilo but we paid Rs.40 per kilo. My husband is a very good price negotiator. Lol! No, the truth is he just knows the real prices for these fruits. Once at Horticulture Khirsu, we paid Rs.20 per kilo. And we are regulars and we buy so much from these vendors that quite a few times we were asked if we had a store of our own. When answered that the amount we were buying was for personal consumption, the inquirer was kind of shock, in awe. Then there's lychee. I call them 'my rambutan in India'.
